Macromedia Flash is a program that has for years been the definitive, by far the most popular, and certainly the most well supported vector image based animation software product on the market. To simplify, vector images allow for extremely flexible manipulation in various ways; from controlling transparency, scale, rotation, layer level and more. Vector based images are actually drawn in real time based on calculations performed on stored, mostly numerical variables. This method of production allows for a trade of file size and complexity for CPU usage, as the central processing unit in your computer is the component which performs these calculations.

My computer was always popping up with registry errors and I couldnt get rid of them. Regtask did the job for me and took less then 5 minutes to speed up my computer.

I have to admit I'm no computer geek. When something goes wrong, I usually have to call someone to fix it and it costs me a lot of money. When my computer started to experience random freezes, I just used Regtask and now it works normally again.

My computer is 5 years old and runs extremely slow now. I was a bit sceptical about using Regtask, but just decided to give it a shot in the end and it worked out fantastically for me.

In addition to this benefit, there is afforded to the user an almost infinite potential to manipulate and animate their static images without any distortion at all. For instance, regardless as to which size the object is scaled, the same level of detail will be presented and preserved. While animations based on static objects being physically moved around on the screen or "stage" are generally used, the possibility for frame by frame animation which is more similar to traditional methods is also presented to the user.

More Info Regarding File Extension Swf
In the early days of its existence Flash was functionally little more than that which has just been described, but as time has gone on and the number of types of media being spread across the network of the internet have increased, and they have ever more thoroughly permeated the average user's computing experience. In fact, in pursuing this multimedia functionality Macromedia themselves have facilitated that spread with flash itself. As it stands today, a Flash animation is capable of delivering interactivity through graphical user interfaces which can receive and display data stored on remote servers, which if taken advantage of by a good designer will manifest experiences with a richness that come close to a self contained operating system. As video and audio have too become increasingly a part of our normal web browsing experience, Flash integrated extensions which allowed for easy addition of these media forms into its animation capabilities. To be clear, it would be good to note at this point that what could be termed an animation as a product of the Flash software might be anything from a simple embedded video or site navigation menu to a fully fledged role playing video game.
When working with Flash, the user most often puts out one of two types of files. One has the extension of .fla, while the other is .swf, the one being referenced here. The .swf is the fully finished and compressed output of a .fla file, and contains none of the additional information needed to edit the contents of the animation. The .fla file is what you open if manipulation is your intention. From within the Flash animating software, to create a stand alone movie which can be viewed by a web browser whether or not they have Flash installed you must 'export' your .fla into the compressed .swf form. At this time there is a rendering phase which will take a varying amount of time, depending on the complexity of the animation you may be working with.
It is important to note that Macromedia Flash, licensed under Adobe software is a commercial product that must be paid for if you intend to use it for more than just a trial period. The official Flash website is the best place to get this trial version of the software, at no cost to you. The Flash file type is not compatible across other software platforms, so if you want to play ball there's only one place to go. Because of this, once the .swf file has been exported it cannot be edited or manipulated, although third party viewers do exist. The only way to get at the contents of a .swf file so that they can be changed around is with the original .fla that it came from. This also acts as a sort of intellectual property safeguard in a way, as bits and pieces can't be taken away by other users who may come across one's work.
If you have a .swf file you can either download the standalone flash player from Macromedia's website, or simply drag it onto any browser which has the Shockwave/Flash plugin installed and it will play automatically.
